faa grounded the 50 jets after batteries burned onboard two 787s earlier this year. boeing came up with a fix, which the faa is now testing. the ordeal has already cost the jet maker $600 million, but more losses could be added on as airlines consider asking boeing for compensation. a quiet town in texas mourns the tragic deaths of more than a dozen people caught in a massive explosion at a fertilizer plant. it's considered the largest industrial disaster this decade. president obama quickly pledged federal emergency funds to the area. rescuers spent hours searching through rubble for survivors. the disaster started with a small fire at west fertilzer plant. according to reports, the company was fined $2,300 by the epa for a saftey violation, but settled in 2006. the german parlaiment is backing a $13-billion bailout for struggling cyprus. it's nearly twice the amount estimated a month ago. german taxpayers worry even more money may be needed. the cyprus parliament votes on the bailout package next week. the german prime minister calls the rescue essential, and says without it ther

police helicopter of watertown, a no-fly edict of the faa. circling the very same area for a couple of hours. right now, it is circling the threat to people in watertown and boston, which is so fwrat that mass transit has been stopped and cab service has been halted. they do not want this person to get out and have any means whatsoever to get around. he has shown that he is quite capable of carjacking as he has done, as they have done twice. suspect number one killed. reportedly with explosives strapped on him and run over by his brother as his brother was escaping. i don't know if suspect number one was dead already. he was taken to a hospital where a doctor said he had numerous bullet wounds and what appeared to be the results of an explosion on his person. he was torn up badly and died early this morning. last night, the scene out here as they chased these suspects. back up to the beginning. they went to the m.i.t. campus, shot and killed an m.i.t. police officer, car jacked a mercedes suv and were driving away from police who had spotted them. they were throwing explosives out of t

know that the faa has established a no-fly zone over watertown, massachusetts. amtrak has been suspended indefinitely from new york to boston. let's get to scott cohn. he's been in boston since the attacks. what's happening where you are, scott? >> i'm also in watertown, maria, and for much of the day, really for all of the day, we were on mt. auburn avenue, which is where the chase went down overnight. we've moved more for transmission issues than anything else, it's not that the situation has changed appreciably, but i've had a little different vantage point of the same things that bill was talking about. and it took us a while to figure out what was going on. but it seems pretty clear, they were just, as they said, they were going house to house. and it looked like they were sort of going sector to sector to sector. there would be an aerial reconnaissance above, sometimes there were military helicopters accompanying them as well. and then you would see lines of yu uniformed police officers and also s.w.a.t. officers going door to door, with guns, not necessarily drawn to fir
